LET'S CELEBRATE FRANCOPHONIE IN SILICON VALLEY

The International Day of the Francophonie celebrates on March 20 Francophone culture and French language around the world. We are delighted to invite you to a special series of celebrations in Silicon Valley. This event in Palo Alto has been organized together with Alliance Française Silicon Valley, Consulate General of Luxembourg in San Francisco, Québec Government Office in Los Angeles, Consulate General of Switzerland in San Francisco in partnership with the International School of the Peninsula in Palo Alto.

All our events start with a Welcome Apéro at 6:30pm and are hosted at ISTP in Palo Alto (151 Laura Lane, Palo Alto). They are open to the public, feel free to share. To reserve your spots, kindly RSVP to: sfr.events@eda.admin.ch

9 March 2018: Swiss artists Laurent Brunetti and Mario Pacchioli's internationally acclaimed Concert «Pêcheurs de Rêves» takes you to a unique journey of memories and emotions. Pêcheurs de Rêves performed at Festival d'Avignon 2017.

13 March 2018: Quebec Movie Night screening "Origami" (by Patrick Demers) and "Je Suis une Actrice" (by Benoit Lach / Best Comedy Short - Rhode Island International Film Festival). Original French versions with English subtitles.

20 March 2018: Special Speaker Event welcoming three Visionary Francophone Women for an inspiring talk on their journey in Silicon Valley. This event is dedicated to women in celebration of the International Women's Day. Florence Buatois, Board Chair French American Cultural Society. Caroline Simard, Director Research Clayman Institute for Gender Research, Stanford University. Virginie Simon, CEO & Co-founder MyScienceWork, French American Business Awards 2017. Moderator of the evening: Hélène Laroche Davis, Chair Modern Languages & Cultures Notre Dame de Namur University, book author: François Truffaut, Robert Desnos.
