Mandorla is a new French-American film by director Roberto Miller, set in Mountain View and Lyon, France. It follows the story of Ernesto, a visual artist and seeker stuck in a corporate job who is drawn by dark and magical visions to a medieval French city. There he pursues an elusive banker who could help him unlock a dream that threatens his job, family, and sanity.
Mandorla premiered at the 2015 Julien Dubuque International Film Festival and went on to win Best San Francisco Film at the San Francisco Film Awards, and an award of Merit at the Awareness Film Festival in Los Angeles.
Director Roberto Miller and his producing partner Liz Holdship met Max Bouchard of Alliance Française at a Cinéma du Mois screening last fall and invited him to a private viewing of Mandorla. Max loved the main character’s transitions between the inner and outer worlds, and how the film illustrates the challenges of life and work in today’s Silicon Valley. These challenges lead Ernesto to confront the timeless questions of life, identity, and meaning in the old city of Lyon, France.
Roberto and Liz will attend and discuss the film with Max and the audience during a Q&A after the screening….
