Terms and Conditions of Sale
All students must be or become members of Alliance Française Silicon Valley. However members of Alliance Française San Francisco can attend classes at our centers without having to buy another membership.
Payment of tuition, membership, materials and textbooks is due on the first day of class. If a student tries a group class, he or she must pay the fee before the class starts.
Alliance’s right to cancel:
If there are less than four students in a class at the end of the second week of the session, Alliance Française has the right to cancel the class. Either the student transfers to another class or tuition is refunded prorate to the number of weeks remaining in the term. Membership is not refundable.
Student’s right to cancel:
Please find below the different types of cancellations.
In all cases, an email notice must be sent to the Director of Registration. The reception date of this notice is the effective cancellation date used to define the student’s cancellation rights. The membership is not refundable. Tuition is not transferable to another person.
- Cancellation Prior to the first class:
If registration is cancelled prior to when the session starts, the whole tuition is refunded.
- Cancellation during the first week of the session (day of the first class + 6 days):
If a student cancels his/her registration during the first week of the session, the tuition will be refunded minus the fee for trying a class. If the textbooks were bought at the school, they can be returned if the student didn’t damage or write on them.
- Cancellation during the second week of the session (day of the second class + 6 days):
If the student cancels his/her registration during the second week of the session, refund will be prorated minus a three-week cancellation fee.
No refund can be made or credit given after the second week of the session.
Registration after trying a class:
If the student registers after trying a class, the fee for trying it will be deducted from the class tuition.
Registration after the beginning of the session:
A student, who is not a complete beginner ,can join a class any time. The tuition will be calculated according to the following rules.
From first to third week: full tuition
From fourth to last week: (Nb weeks) x (full tuition/(Nb class weeks-2)) .
Absence for a part of the session:
If a student plan to miss three or more consecutive weeks, he or she can register for a partial session. The tuition will be calculated according to the following rule:
Tuition = full tuition – ((Nb consecutive weeks absence-2) x (full tuition/(Nb class weeks-2)))
Student’s right to transfer:
A student can transfer to another class upon the teacher and School director’s approval. However, transferring during a session is only possible within the same center. If the textbooks were bought at the school, they can be returned if the student didn’t damage or write on them
Student’s right to cancel:
Up to fourty-eight hours before the first lesson, the student can cancel his or her registration without being charged. The membership is not refundable.
Schedule a lesson:
Lessons are scheduled according to the availability of both the student and the teacher. Each six-hour package must be scheduled within a six month period starting from the purchase date. Hours not scheduled during this six-month period are lost.
Reschedule a lesson:
Twenty-four hours prior to a lesson, the student can reschedule without being charged.
The new date must be within six months of the purchase date.
Refunds will be paid or credited within 45 days upon receipt of the email request. Credits are valid for one year.
Ticket sales are final and non refundable.
