Group Classes in Santa Cruz
- Fall 2017: October 10 – December 20
In Santa Cruz, we now offer Beginner, and Intermediate French classes taught by native French teachers.
Students will progress by practicing conversations modeled after A/V material recorded by native speakers as well as a variety of documents to provide authentic French immersion. Pronunciation and speaking fluidity will be practiced in each class.
The Beginner French program helps build a solid foundation in French through immersion. Classes follow a comprehensive approach to teach basic interactive skills in French social settings. The program gradually introduces familiar everyday expressions, syntax, and vocabulary used in real life situations.
The Intermediate French program reinforces both communication and written skills. Classes use a comprehensive approach to teach students the skills to interact in French on a more familiar and personal level. The program gradually introduces students to the syntax and vocabulary used to describe one’s environment and matters in areas of personal contact.
Our group classes are intentionally small (4 to 12) in order to maximize the communication and offer a more dynamic learning environment. They are held once a week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm at the Santa Cruz center: 705 Front St, Santa Cruz (Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History). Contact us
If you already know some French, you may register for these classes at any time. If you are not sure about your level, you can take our free placement to find out which class is right for you. We will then notify you by email to help you enroll in the appropriate class online. In addition, the instructor will gauge your level during the first week and make a suggestion should another class be more suitable.
You are welcome to try one or two different classes ($30.00 each time, payment by check or cash).
