Le Festival 2016 on May 12 and May 14, 2016

Under the direction of conductor Mark Starr and French flutist Isabelle Chapuis, the Alliance Française Sillicon Valley will be hosting our third consecutive Festival of French Classical Music.

Review on our past concerts “This was an excellent performance, the best I’ve heard of this piece.” – David Bratman, San Francisco Classical Voice. See the full article here.

This year, we will hold 2 concerts on May 12th and May 14th at The Mountains View Center of Performing Arts, SecondStage.

MUSA San Francisco Baroque Music Ensemble, a celebrated Bay Area Early Music group, will present on May 12, 2016 a bountiful bouquet of Baroque  music from 17th Century France. The critically-acclaimed period instrument ensemble will perform an all-French program featuring vocal and instrumental works by François Couperin, André Campra, Jacquel Morel and others.  Harpsichordist Derek Tam leads the virtuoso seven-member Early Music group. One of the evening’s highlight: Nicolas Bernier’s delightful “Coffee” Cantata (a precursor to Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous “Coffee” Cantata and a paen to the powers of the dark brew).
