POTICHE (2010) by François Ozon, with Catherine Deneuve, Fabrice Luchini and Gérard Depardieu.

Set in 1977, the film is a charming and witty comedy. Catherine Deneuve plays a housebound “trophy wife” who steps in to manage the factory run by her tyrannical husband (Fabrice Luchini) after the workers go on strike. She proves herself to be a competent and assertive woman of action. She is empowering and relevant. The acclaimed director, François Ozon (8 WOMEN, SWIMMING POOL) has created a satirical and funny take on the war between the sexes and classes.

The bilingual introduction will be led by Hélène Laroche Davis, Professor of Film Studies.
