To our Students, Members, Community, and Staff,

In regards to the spread of COVID-19, otherwise known as the Coronavirus, and we want to make sure that you know the Alliance Française Silicon Valley is taking all the necessary precautions to keep you safe. We are following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and coordinating with the community, local government, and the French Consulate.

The well-being and health of all our students, members, faculty, volunteers, and staff is of the utmost importance to us and since the onset of the outbreak, we have implemented extra measures.

Although Alliance Française Silicon Valley has not been affected by the virus, we are following Santa Clara County’s Coronavirus Guidance posted March 13, 2020. The County Superintendent of Schools and all district superintendents in the County have decided to close public schools to students for three weeks beginning Monday, March 16, 2020.

Accordingly, we are postponing the beginning of all classes for Spring Session 2020—originally scheduled to start on March 23—to April 6, 2020 (Los Gatos and Menlo Park locations).

As of April 6, we will have alternative solutions such as online classes if the crisis is prolonged.

In order to maintain a minimum presence in Los Gatos, we will maintain our regular office hours, 10 am to 2 pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Access to the library will be open during these hours only. French Express Lunch Conversation and Book Club in Los Gatos will be kept as currently scheduled.

This may change on a short notice following any new guidelines.

We are monitoring the developing situation, and will reach out to you to provide updates as needed. For the most up to date information, please visit Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In health,
Board of Directors Alliance Française Silicon Valley
