By Fred Cavayé with Daniel Auteuil, Sara Giraudeau, Gilles Lellouche
In French with English subtitles.
This historical drama of life in 1942 France is a humanist portrait of survival and resistance, as well as the tragic consequences of complicity and collaboration. Mercier is an ordinary man who only aspires to start a family with Blanche, the woman he loves. He is also the employee of Mr. Haffmann, a talented jeweler.
Faced with the German occupation, the two men will have no other choice but to conclude an agreement whose consequences will upset the fate of our three characters.
The film blends suspense, intimacy, and dark humor
