By Eric Besnard, with Gregory Gadebois, Isabelle Carré, Benjamin Lavernhe.
In French with English subtitles.
This period drama is set on the eve of the French Revolution. The film follows Pierre Manceron, a talented chef, dismissed by the Duke of Chamfort, who finds an unlikely ally in a determined woman. Together, they embark on a bold endeavor—to create France’s first restaurant open to all, ordinary people as well as aristocrats.
Blending themes of culinary artistry, resilience, and societal change, Delicious explores the transformative power of food and the spirit of innovation. With its rich visuals and heartfelt storytelling, the film captures the dawn of a gastronomic revolution that would forever change French cuisine and French society.
The bilingual introduction and the discussion will be led by Hélène Laroche Davis, Professor of Film Studies.
