La Dégustation is a romantic comedy about Jacques, a wine shop owner recovering from a divorce, and Hortense, a warm-hearted woman determined to start a family despite life's setbacks. When Hortense walks into Jacques's wine shop for a tasting, an unexpected relationship begins to blossom. Through wine, misunderstandings, and second chances, the film explores how love can arrive when we least expect it. Much like a fine wine, relationships need time, patience, and openness to reveal their full character.
La Dégustation reminds us that life's disappointments do not have to define our future and that new beginnings can emerge
at any age. The film celebrates friendship, vulnerability, and the courage to embrace unexpected opportunities for happiness.
The bilingual introduction and the discussion will be led by Hélène Laroche Davis, Professor of Film Studies.
